J A K E  S N O W D O N

Jake is a versatile actor-musician who trained at the Guildford School of Acting and has a BA in Music from Southampton University. He is a tenor singer (classical, musical theatre and contemporary) and multi-instrumentalist.

 

Jake's most memorable experiences growing up was singing in choirs and touring to some of the country's most beautiful cathedrals and churches; watching family and friends playing folk music together; playing guitar and piano in several teenage bands and the thrill of stepping onto a school stage to play a tiny, 11yr old Tom Snout in A Midsummer Night's Dream. 

Jake's most recent work includes performing with Conn Artist Theatre Co., as an actor-musician for the tours of Silas Marner and The Four Men; two separate summer seasons with Rainbow Shakespeare (Highdown Gardens); PHA production of Cinderella (Worthing Pavillion Theatre) as an ugly sister; Moment of Grace (Pleasance theatre, Islington) and devised theatre piece, Man In The Green Boots (Barbican Pit Theatre);  

In musicals Jake has worked with STEM Theatre in Ophellia:Madness in Blue; composer Andrew Fisher in cast recordings and workshop performances of Billy Bow (Nuffield Theatre, Southampton) and The Weird World of William Willow (Clapham Omnibus Theatre).

 

In concert his professional engagements include soloist work for Witt Studio and Handel's Messiah with St Michael the Archangel, Southampton and a world premiere of Michael Finnissy's completion of Mozart's Requiem. He has sung with various ensembles and choirs including Mozart Festival Chorus, Blossom Street, The Collective, Merbecke Choir and was a choral scholar with Cantores Michaelis. 

 

Jake has been teaching privately and for other companies and organisations for several years, including Sussex Music School, PPA Cover, Open2Music, Stagecoach, Stage Kings, Chinthurst school and Discovery New School where he was a music/drama specialist producing Christmas and Easter school plays and head guitar instructor at Camp Arowhon (Ontario, Canada) for their 2008 summer season.

Jake has taken additional training short courses with LAMDA, Act Up, Abingdon, Barefoot Opera and Body Opera.
